You’ve probably heard it before. You might even have said it before.
“I’m going to read through the whole Bible this year.”
But why?
What better way to build your relationship with God than by taking time to read the words that He inspired at their writing and that He still inspires at their reading?
By having a plan, it becomes much easier to focus on what God is saying to you through His word. After all, you don’t have to spend half of your designated devotional time trying to figure out what to read.
Although the Bible is a collection of smaller books of quite a few different genres written over thousands of years, reading the whole thing in a (relatively) short time makes obvious the golden themes that thread their way through the Bible.
And while you’re at it, you just might find God opening new understanding from some sections that you’ve never gotten around to reading before – like maybe Numbers.
